Why Dogs Are Tame

Think about the story "Why Dogs Are Tame" you just read. What was the author's purpose for writing this: to persuade, to inform, or to entertain us as readers? Give reasons from the story why you feel this way. Please answer this in a paragraph of three to four sentences.

I think it was to entertain the reader. I think that because i thought the story was very entertaining. I think the wolf lived and he missed the shot.☺

I think the story was to inform the reader. That everyone an animal or person has a home and can go to a safe place. How the dog was so hungry and he went to the person's house. The dog ended up to being their pet.

I can make an argument that the author's purpose was to persuade, entertain, and inform. The author pursuaded us to feel sorry for the wolf in the story because the dog was the one ended up getting food and shelter while the wolf was left to stay in the wild. We were entertained as readers by following where both the dog and wolf ended up, even though they started from the same place in the story. Lastly, I also think author's purpose was to inform us as to why people are so afraid of wolves to this day (their appearance), and do not want to get near them at all.

I think the story was to entertain. I think that because it was a fun story to read.Plus dogs could talk to humans.I think the dog was also a traitor because he left all the animals for a home only because ha was welcome and they were not. =) :o

I think the writers purpose is to entertain us because people probably wonder how dogs are tame. Also, in the story it was told in the dogs perspective and it is interesting and entertaining to think about how a dog is feeling and their thoughts. I think that it was for entertainment because it really didn't have a moral or lesson. (unless you consider that the wolf dies and the lesson would be: if you are a wolf don't go to someones door and beg for food. P.S. YOU WILL GET SHOT AND DIE A GRUESOME DEATH!! Muahhhh)*Sorry*

I think that the authors purpose of writing this story was to entertain the reader. Personally, I thought that the story was pretty funny, the dog talking to the people and the people treating him as a friend even though he was a stranger. All thought at the end, I thought it was quite odd how Mr.Man had just shot Brer Wolf with out letting him confess why he was there.

I think the authors purpose was all three. The author informed us on how dogs are so lovable and wolves are just creepy from they way people see it. They pursuaded us to think we like the wolf better now, since we feel bad for him because he had to stay in the wild as the dog got to be fed and tooken care of by the people. It was entertaining while the story went on and we learned how the dog now lives as well as the wolf.

I think the author wrote this story to entertain the person who reads this book. I thought it was funny when the dog gobbled up the meal. The man was trying to shoot the wolf.

I think the story was made to etertain us . I feel that way because when the man and the wife toke the dog in, then feed the dog and then the dog lived in the house. then at the end of the story the man shot the wolf, but the auther doesn't tell if the wolf lived or not.

I think the author wrote this for all of them. The author tries to persude us to tink thats how dogs came to living in houses with people.the author informed us that dogs are tame because they want food. The author entertains us because the story is entertaining for the preson to read.

I (Matthew Christopher Guilette the first,) believe that the piece was strictly written to entertain us. It is folklore, which is basically entertainment. I mean, really, expecting this to nonfictionally be informed by this is like me informing you that I live in a walk in freezer at the white house (for the record, I don't). I was not surprised when the woman paid more attention to the dog than the man. Don't they (with an execption of allergy cases) always?

I thought the purpose of the story was to inform us and to entertain us. I thought it was a story that informed us because it tells us how dogs are really good trained pets and that they can be really helpfull. I also thought that it was entertaining because it was a fun story to read. And I think this story was really easy to understand but I don't think the title was really good.

I think the purpose was to entertain readers. It gidnt want pursuede or inform. The story was entertaining because it was a fun piece. It might haft to do with how the first dog lived with man.I did think the title wasn't exceptible for the piece. Why dogs are tame in not a good title. To understand the book you would haft to know what brer meant. I wish they wouldv'e said that in the begining.

I think that the purpose of this story was to entertain us.I think this because it was a good book and it shows how good of pets dogs are and how fun they can be to play with.

I think it was supposed to be a fun, entertaining tall tale. I feel this way because it did not really have a moral or a lesson learned, I believe it was just a short story that was made to entertain.

I think the author's purpose was to entertain us and persuade us. The story was entertaining to see where the dog and wolf would both end up and also entertaining to see if the dog or wolf would get food and find shelter. The story was persuading because we were persuaded to feel bad for the wolf because he didn't have any food or shelter and got shot by the man.

I think the story is to entertain. it was sorta weird how the dogs can talk to the humans. it also really did not have a moral lesson.

I think the author's purpose was to entertain and to inform us. The story was entertaning to see where the dog and wolf would find a shelter and find food. I thought it was a story that also informed us because dogs can be really fun pets to play with.

I think the author tried to inform us and entertain us. I feel they entertained us because this story was easy to read and it was funny, and i felt the author informed us by telling us that dogs, are good at being a house pet and they can protect you from danger.

I think the author wrote this piece because he wanted to entertain us. There wasn't any real facts in it, and it was more of a folktail type story, because...dogs and wolves could talk.☺

I think the author wrote the story to entertain the reader. I think this way because the story didn't have any facts or news or any type of information to inform us about. And it doesn't really focusing on anything to persuade about, so that only leaves the one obvious answer: It was written to be entertaining.
