Think about the story "Primary Lessons" you just read. Why do you think the author wrote this? What do you think the author is mainly trying to get across to the reader? Please answer this in a paragraph of three to four sentences.
I think she rote this as a personal narrative to tell about how her life was like. I think she is trying too get across that it is not hard to learn two different languages and still get through life. I think if they continued the story the authors family would have bought him a suit.
I think the author wrote this story to tell everybody how her life was as a child. I think that she is trying to say that its hard to learn 2 differnt launguages at once, and its kind of like 2 different worlds that she is living.I think this story was interusting because, I put myself in her shoes, and it was hard to live like her.
The author wrote this piece to give a little more insight into her childhood, and a call for equality regardless of how much money your family has. The author clearly did not enjoy her upbringing in Puerto Rico, school specifically. She did not feel she had a chance to be the free hearted child she wanted to be. The equality (mentioned in the first paragraph) from her childhood I am referring to deals with how Cofer was treated (teacher's pet) because her family had money, and the English language came easier to her. A good example of this is at the end of the story when Cofer hears her teachers talking about finding an outfit for Lorenzo, and how Cofer's family could help him get some clothes that fit because they "have money".
I think the author wrote the story to tell us about her life. I think her life was hard on her, because her mom forced her to go to school when she really did not want to. I think that the author wrote this story to tell about her childhood being Spanish and American. That it is hard to "Live two lives". One; speaking in Spanish the other in English which was easy for her to become a good student but also she had a lot of money and she was treated differently because. Also your job was to tell if you were a normal fit in type of person or a well known person and admired.

I think that the author wrote the story because, she wanted to try to tell us about her life and how it was so hard. I think that she had to kind of live like "2 Lives" and I also think that her life was hard because her mom forced her to go to school and told her that she had to go to school no matter what. I think that the athor wants us to get out of this stiry is that we should enjoy school and be happy when we have to go to school. The girl also had to learn a new language called spanish and ware a school uniform but thats not that bad!

I think the author wrote this piece to tell about her early childhood, and how it was like. I think the author wrote this piece, to get across how childhood life is like in Puerto Rico, and how somewhat difficult it is to be stuck inbetween two different cultures.
I think Cofer wrote this story because she wanted to express her early childhoodand explain it.I think she wrote this piece because she wanted to tell people what her Puerto Rico life was like. She also wanted to get the point acroos that being around english and spanish that she was being separated.
