I did not like the Emperor from the story. I thought he was arrogant toward others, and would not let others express themselves freely. For example, the man who was caught in the flying machine was put to death by the Emperor. He also spread the word that anyone that from the village that spoke of the flying machine would be put to death as well! I think the Emperor was so evil because he viewed anyone who was creative as a threat to his throne. I think he was paranoid that someone was going to overthrow him as Emperor.

I think the emperor in the story was a jerk he did he thought he was the best and could make all the rules and if you did not obay them he would kill you. For example he cuts off a persons head because he was caught in the flying machine and he said if a person talk about the flying machine they would die. I think the emperor was so evil is that he did not people you were smart so he can be emperor longer.

I think the emperor was really mean. Like Mr. Pratt said the guy who was riding on the flying machine got killed by the emperor. The emperor was evil throughout the story, because he said that anyone who talks about the flying machine would die. Also I think that the emperor was worried he would not be emperor anymore.

I think the emperor was mean, but alittle nice. the guy who was riding the flying machine was killed by the emperor. the emperor was crazy to say if the farmer speeks of the flying machine will be killed in an hour.I think the emperor was mean by killing the guy, but he was only was trying to protect his kingdom from the evil people in the outside the great wall of chiana.

I think that the empire was really mean but then he was a little nice at the same time. The man who was riding in the flying machine was killed in an hour. That was interesting. I think that the emperor was just mean because he wanted to keep him and everyone else around him safe too. Because he did not want the evil people from the outside the great wall of china to get in to the kingdom.

I thought the emperor was a very mean and selfish emperor. I thought that because he just killed anybody that didn't really follow his rules. I think the emperor was really evil to people so that they could not take his job of being emperor.

My thoughts on the Emperor from the story are the Emperor was really mean and was being a jerk. I feel this way because in the story the Emperor cuts off a persons head because he was caught in the flying machine and said anyone who talks about the flying machine will be put to death. I think the Emperor was so evil because the Emperor didn't want someone to over throw him as the Emperor of the kingdom.

I think the Emperor was mean. And he was some what nice. The was meaner than anybody I know of. He's like Hitler genraly. Well when you are in power of everything you usually start attaching the world because you want to be know for a long time and it might be what you believe in. Big empire's are usually controlled by a mean emperor's. Most empire's can't handle them hat there so mean. But he does have a point trying to protect his kingdom.

I think the emperor was a big meany.Because like a-lot of people are saying he was the one who killed the guy in the flying machine. That's just plain rude on second thought he is evil, selfish, demening.I think he was evil because he thought any body who was smarter than him or as smart as him he would put the in to death because he thought they would out rule them and somebody else would get his thrown

I think the Emperor was really jealous because the guy who made the flying machine was a better inventor then him.I think so because he had the guy put to death because he invented a really good flying machine.I think he feels this way because he thought the inventor was going to ove power him so he had him put to death.

I think that the emperor was jealous of the man because he was the first person to invent something to make a human fly. Because right when the man had come down, the emperor had walked him into the palace and called for the executioner to come to him with his ax to chop off his head. I thought he was a jerk because he was so selfish that he didn't want anyone else to over power him as the emperor of the palace.

I thought that the emperor was selfish and mean because he killed the man who invented the flying machine. I think the emperor was so evil because someone else invented something that he didn't and he didn't get the attention that he did.

I thought that the emperor form the story was selfish and jealous. I mean, as soon as he saw the guy flying, he told him to come down, and the guy thought he was going to be praised. Instead? He gets his head chopped off. I think he was just jealous that someone was able to create flying before he could, and if he was not able to reproduce it, he could be overthrown. So instead he just executed the guy and said he'd kill anyone who mentioned it.

I think the emperor was very selfish because he thought about his safety or reputation instead of letting the guy live and let him fly. Plus I thought he was very mean because he could have let the guy live instead of killing him and burning his flying machine. The emperor was over protective of his palace because if anything could have the slightest of a weapon that could be used against him.

Ryan McMorrow said...

I thought the emperor was selfish because he thought about his own life and safety rather than the inventors life. I think he should have burned the machine but let the inventor go free. I think he was worried that someone else was going to take his position as emperor of the city and he was thinking that any little thing could be turned into a weapon and then used against him.

I thought that the emperor was mean and selfish. I feel this way because he thought that the inventor was was better than him. I think that the Emperor was so evil through the story because he wanted to be better and be the inventor.

At first I thought the emperor was nice but when he killed that man I thought otherwise. I think it was selfish and mean that he killed the man and destroyed his flying machine but then again he wanted to protect his people. I think he was evil because he didn't want his wall and city destroyed by the one he feared.

Jacob Bolwerk said...

When the emperor first appeared in the story, I thought he was wise, and loved his nation. But after he kiled the man, I sort of felt otherwise. The emperor didn't kill the man out of selfishness, but out of protection. My opion on him did change a little, he seemed stiffer, more protective, and a ton more carring for his country.
