I think the uncle was mean and wicked. I think he was mean because he only fed the boy scraps of food. i think he was wicked because he tried to kill the boy in a cave. Yes my thoughts changed at the end. My thoughts changed because he came back and he realized that he did something wrong.

I think his uncle is selfish because, he kicked the boy out of his house because he didn't like so he put him in a cave and he wanted him to die. My thoughts changed at he end because the uncle found him and treated him nicely.

My initial thoughts on the boy's were not positive at all. It was obvious that the boy was a burdon to the uncle, and he didn't want him living with him at all. The uncle even tries to kill him when he takes him hunting! He is definitely not the type of person I would want to live with or have my kids live with if I wasn't around.

It was interesting how the tune of the uncle changed at the end of the story when the two were reunited in the forest. Even though the uncle thought his nephew was dead. The uncle realized how poorly he treated the boy, and wanted a second chance to show he could be a good person. The boy was willing to grant him a second chance.

I think the uncle was really mean and was a really bad person because he tricked him to go in the cave was waiting for him to die. He also dressed him in rags. When the uncle found him he thought he was dead but then I think he wants to try to be nicer.

My first thought on the uncle was that he was really mean because he never called the boy by his first name, he had always called him it or boy. And also that he wanted to get rid of him and tried to kill him by starving him to death by trapping him in a cave. The boy was perfectly fine with living with his new adopted family out in forest.

I thought it was quite interesting on how the mood of the uncle had changed so quickly at the end of the story. He had all of a sudden up and changed his mind about his nephew. also that he aloud his nephew to keep his adopted family with him in their village. The boy trusted him that the uncle would now respect him and his new family.

I first thought the boys uncle was mean and evil. I think he was mean when he gave the boy ragged clothes to where and scraps of food to eat. I think he was evil when he put the boy in the cave for him to die. My thoughts on the uncle changed at the end because the uncle came back for the boy realizing the horrible thing that he had done and he then became more of a friend to the boy.

The first thought that came to my head about the uncle was that he was a mean old mental hag that basically was abusing his nephew. He should have been in a lot of trouble when he closed up the cave that the boy was in.
My thought changed after the uncle came back to rescue the boy and opoligized for the unecasarry stuff he did to his nephew.

The first thing that came to my mind was that the uncle was very mean to the nephew and treated the nephew very, very, very, very, very, very, badly and poorly. He also was abusing his nephew. I don`t know why he did not get in trouble for doing that to his nephew, I wish that he would have!

Then after I read the Part where the uncle comes back to rescue the nephew and apoligiged to the nephew for all of the things that he did to him changed my thinking of the uncle.

Sorry I spelled the word apologize wrong

My first thought on the boy's uncle was that the uncle is mean and dosen't care about the boy. I feel this way because the uncle dressed him in ragged clothes and gives the boy scraps of food to eat. Yes my thoughts changed at the end of the story. My thoughts on the uncle changed at the end of the story because the uncle went back to the cave, because the uncle realized that he had done a twisted-mind thing.

I pictured him as a hobo.
He seemed as a farmer with torn jeans chewing on hay.
Sort of, they did.
When he didn't shoot the animals at the end.

I thought that the uncle was very mean and selfish because he treated the boy very rudely. By dressing him in very ragged clothing and fed him food scraps. My thoughts did change at the end of the story. I think the uncle realized that the way he was treating the boy was terrible and that if he was in that position he would be scared too, so he let him out.

John Tulenko said...

The uncle was very selfish. He treated the boy like a slave. He treated poorly by feeding him scraps of food and barely dressed him. He turned out to care for the boy. The uncle went out to find if the boy was alive.

I think the uncle was a bad person but he seemed to turn decent at the end. He was bad because he didn't give the boy much and he tried to kill him (ish). I am just glad the uncle changed his mind and apologized but that doesn't make it right though (of course).

I thought that the uncle was mean and a abusive person. I think this because he fed the boy little and put him in a cave to die. At the end I changed my mind about the uncle because he was walking through the woods and saw him and took him home with him and cared for him after.

He was thinking wrong he was selfish he was giving child abuse to his newfhew I would just ditsh him from the start. He was very very very very very RUDE to his nefuew. He locked his nefuew in a cave, he would only feed his nefuew scrapps. That's just tarribale. Yes because the hunter {which was the boys uncle}came back to get his nefuew. He came back to get and he was apologizing to his nefuew, and saying what he did he did was unexeptable.

I thought he was depressed because he had to take care of a little boy that wasnt even his son and he got in the way of his hunting.
I feel this way because he made him go into a cave and closed the enterance so the little boy could not get out.
I think he did change at the end of the story because he went out to find the little boy and apoligized to him.
He did because he was exited to see the little boy.

At first I thought the Uncle was cruel and mean. I thought this because he neglected the boy and attempted to kill him because he was fed up with taking care of him and trapped him in a cave. My thoughts definitely changed at he end of the story about the Uncle. They changed because after the Uncle left the boy to die in a cave he resented his actions and came back to try and save him.

At first thought, I thought it looked like the uncle didn't like kids and just left him to die because he hated being around kids.

But at the end I think he was probably all stressed out with the responsibilities of taking care of a kid, so he wanted to get a rid of him but he realized how stupid he was for leaving the boy, so he had went back and found the boy gone. Then he felt really stupid for what he had done. And with the promise he made at the end, should he stick with it, I believe what I've said, but should he abandon the kid again, I would believe what I had believed at first.

The first thoughts I had about the Uncle, was that he was mean, and terrible, because he was treating the boy so badly, by trapping him inside a cave. My thoughts changed at the end, and I got a different impression on the Uncle, he seemed nicer, more accepting and more loving and caring.
