"Fighting over food" was an article that look at the effect (prices and supply) food is having on revolutionary outbreaks in the Middle east. Food prices are skyrocketing right now in many countries, and many people are spending everything they have to temporarily feed their families. Farm lands worldwide are not yielding the crops they once did, coupled with increased crop prices, and increased population worldwide are coming together to create many issues.
After reading the article I found the following to be interesting: 1. The average person in Egypt spends 38% of their income on food; compared with seven percent in the United States. 2. Farm lands world wide are yielding half of what they did a year ago. This is resulting in higher crop prices because there are less crops in general. 3. Population world wide grows by 219,000 people per day. 4. Much of the corn crop is now being used to make fuel. These are crops that used to be consumed by humans.
This article opened my eyes to a number of issues that are going on not only in the United States, but worldwide as well. I think many Americans take for granted the availability of food on a daily basis. I think the rising food prices will continue to create problems for people world wide. If people are spending most/all of their money on food, how will they have any money to buy anything else? I also think there is a strong correlation between fuel prices and food prices, something that we are starting to see here in the United States with rising gas prices. I would recommend this article to anyone who buys food for their family.

3.Food riots don't correlate with hunger, but with "moral outrage."
4.Did you know that the average family spends about 38 percent of there income on food.
I thought that this article was good because for each fact there was a good supporting detail. I also liked this article because it never got of topic, but i guess all good writers do that. "Fighting Over Food" os an article about food prices rising, especially on wheat. The article explains that part of this problem is from the protests in Lybea. Because of this problem many people do not have food to eat. This article takes place around the world.
Four facts that I learned from the article are:
1. Wheat cost twice as much in January than it did in February.
2. Food prices are now at an all time high.
3. Demand for food is increasing because the world population is increasing by 219,000 people per day.
4. Open trading of food stuff could lower average prices.
The article was very factual to me. I never know that this problem was happening! It was nice to learn more facts about what is happening. I would recommend this article to people who don't watch the news.

2.If we don't lower prices it will start food riots.
3.Food prices will get higher.
4.Aquafire means to deal with water availability and water use.
I thought this article was ok. I understood what they were talking about. I am just not that interested in this topic. I recommend this article to everyone.
After reading this article (fighting over food) by: non valid authorMy summary of this article is that it mainly about how people are fighting over the foods prices and how they keep increasing and how people are so disapointed about the have started riots because of it. This article is taking place nationwide.
Four facts i've learned in this article are....
1.gas prices so high it has somthing to do with the prices of food.
2.there is enough wheat to feed a couple million people for a few years.
3.219'00 people are increasing the population each day.
4.the food prices rising causes riots in the middle of the streets.
My overall thought on this article are... that the government should do more about this big problem and since the government is not doing much about this there will just be bigger and bigger problems and people already have to deal with the terrible economy and anouther this higher gas prices thats insane.
I would recomend this article to anyone.
