Peter Hetland's colum titled "Bills must be paid; here a a few ways to do it" was an editorial that dealt with the debt in the United States. The message of Hetlad was for the American public to begin addressing this debt now with the United States beginning to come out of the recession so that future generations do not have to bear the burdon of ths debt. Hetland gave six ways to address this debt.

After reading this article I found the following to be interesting:
1. The best way to give an analagy is if you were living on $50,000 a year, and spent $85,000. We are spending more than we make.
2. Addressing this debt is going to include EVERYONE making sacrifices.
3. The United States government owns 650 million acres of land.
4. Oil is available for drilling in the Artic National Refuge.
5. Sending troops overseas (Afghanistan & Iraq) costs money that adds to the debt.

I enjoyed parts of what this author had to say in relationship to addressing the debt. I disagreed with his ideas to cut money that goes towards education. I don't think education gets enought money as it. I also disagreed with his view on drilling for oil in the arctic because this would disrupt many wildlife, and would not have the effect at the gas pumps that many people think. I would recommend this article to young people so they are aware of where we are at as a country in terms of debt, and what US money is currently being spent on.

" Bills must be payed, here are a few waysto do it," by Peter Hetland is aproblem throghout the USA. This is about people not paying bills. And how many peopel are being forced to be bankrupt. And how people are spending money on things that we don't needd.

Four facts I learned from this article was....
1. People are not paying bills.
2. That people are spending way more money then needed.
3. People have things they don't need but are not selling them to help them out of deby.
4. People are thinking we should raiseveryone's age by 6 months for retirementbenefits.

My overall thoughts wer people just pay the bills. Maybe you and everyone in your family would be happier if you payed the bills. I think people should help others going bankrupt. I reccomend this to parents.

"Bills Must Be Paid" by Peter Hetland was about needing to pay your bills. He told some choices that families have like a garage sale. He told some choices that families have like a garage sale. He told some things the country could do like cutting every federal department.
Some facts I learned were if your household income is $50,000 you spent over $85,000. We should leave alone the wars so we don't spend more money on weapons. The government owns over 650 million acres of land. People are in debt.
I liked this article. I agreed with the author. My favorite way to get out of debt was selling land. I recommend this article to adults who are in debt.

"Bills must be paid; here a a few ways to do it" and was written by Peter Hetland. This article was about the economy. Our Gov. is falling apart.we spent over $85,000.

I learned the following from this article:
1: Our economy is really bad!
2: Our household income was $50,000 but we went over $85,000.
3: Our Gov. is falling apart.
4: To gain money you could sell a car or have a garage sale.

I agree with this article. My dad is always complaining about the economy. We need Gov. support. I recommend this to adults.

"Bills Must Be Paid; Here Are A Few Ways To Do It" by Peter Hetland is taken place worldwide. This article is about ways that every person can help improve the economy. This article gives ways that every one can help.

Four facts I learned was:
1. 2010 U.S. household income was 50,000 and we spent more then 85,000
2. For years the economy has been bad
3. To help the economy they might raise the retirement ages
4. They also might raise taxes too

My overall thoughts on this article:
I agree that we should help the economy out and if we do the whole world will change. This article wasn't something that i am interested in because i dont know much about the economy and stuff. I recommend this article to parents and adults.

3. The average family spends more money then they have a year.
4. Taxes are way to high for some people to pay.

I thought the article was boring. It didn't really catch my eye. There wasn't very good information. I would recommend this article to people in debt.

The article "Bills Must be Paid Here's How To Do It" was about how our economy is getting better. But we still have a lot of dept to pay. There are some easy ways to get our economy out of dept like, raising retirment age.

Four facts I learned while reading this article were:
1. Our economy is getting better.
2. The Federal Government owes 650 million dollars of land.
3. one thing we could do to get our country out of dept, would be raising the retirment age.
4. Another thing we could do to get our country out of dept is selling drilling rights to small areas of the arctic natinal wildlife refuge.

I thought this author had some pretty good suggestions of how to boost our economy. I agree with him and think our country should stand up and take a stand. I agree that if are country starts cutting back we can really change our dept. I would recommend this article to government officals.

The article "Bills must be paid; Here are a few ways to do it" By Peter Hetland was about the USAs debt. It showed some ways to reduce spending. The average family spends more than they have. The article takes place nationwide.

I learned that the US government owns 650 million acres of land. We have land with oil we are not drilling in. The average family that makes 50,000 dollars spends 85000 dollars. When you raise taxes, the governments debt goes down.

I didn't agree with the authors opinion. We can't rapidly change all of our ways. Plus raising taxes would make our economy even worse. I recommend this article to people in the government.

Bills must be paid; here are ways to do it.

This article talks about tips on how to pay bills. Also the article tells us what would happen when bills overwhelm us and six ways to pay them.

Four things I learned are paying bills is a sad thing in life. I also learned six ways to pay bills. Now day’s people listen to anyone that has a website on the Internet.

My thoughts are that some person is telling people how to pay bills. I say let us pay our bills our own way. People don’t want random people telling them how to pay bills…why doesn’t he just write a book on how to pay bills.

Peter gives a lot of facts about how to pay your bills. If you want to learn how to pay your bills or help pay your bills, then you should read this article. This article takes place nationwide.

Four facts I learned from this article are...

I don't think this article was really based for us sixth graders. I think it was more for adults and government. Overall, it was a good article to read. I would recommend this article to adults and to peoople who pay taxes/bills.

"Bills must be paid; here are a few ways to do it" by Peter Hetland. Peter's commentary was mostly about how we americans are deeply in debt. Also Peter has some great ideas on how to reduce our debt in the USA.
-In america we spend trillions on the wars over seas.
-We have been loaned money from other countries.
-We are in debt by billions even trillions.
I would recommend this article to because president Obama because I feel we need to try and maybe get our country in order. Maybe if we all work together we can get out of these hard times. Because I think if we can pull through the Great Depression anything is possible.

The article "Bills Must be Paid; Here are a few ways to do it" by Peter Hetland was about how we need to pay America's bills. In the second part of the article, the author suggested his ideas for improvement. If we don't pay the bills, they will be passed on to the children (us).

Four facts I found while reading this article are: The government owns more than 656 million acres of land. The government can cut diffrent departments. We've been fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001. We've spent trillion-plus dollars on these wars.

I disagree with cutting the education department. The kids are future and if we lower teachers salarys, less people will want to become teachers and less kids will be educated, which leads to a stupid future nation. Even though governer Walker's bill will save monery, it will do more bad than good, affecting teacher's families life style for the worse. I would recommend this article to political people.

2. The federal government owns 650 million acres of land.
3. Our country has a huge resources of drilling rights worth billions.
4. If we don;t fix our bill problem then the children would have to deal with it.

I half agree with the author. I think some of his ideas are good but i don't like others. I also agree with that our country needs to save money. I would recommend the article to the government officials.
