"Long Spells at Screen Create Health Risk" was an article that looked at the effects of prolonged computer and television use on the human heart. The chances of having heart issues double when four or more hours a day are spent in front of either a computer or television. Initially it was thought that exercise could offset the heart issues, but now it appears that does not make a difference. The main probelem stems from the bodys inability to create an exzyme called lipoprotein lipase which helps to break down cholosterol. This enzyme is not created during periods of low or no activity (sitting infront of the tv or computer).

After reading this article, I found the following to be interesting:
1. Four or more hours infront of a tv or computer doubles your risk of having heart problems.
2. Your body does not produce lipoprotein lipase when you are not active.
3. Lipoprotein lipase helps break down cholesterol.
4. The chances of someone eating junk food are increased when watching tv because of the advertisements.

I enjoyed reading this article. I think this is a powerful article from the standpoint of awareness. We are a computer and tv society, and this issue will continue to grow if we do not breakup the time we watch tv or use the compputer. I would recommend this article to all teenagers.

This article talks about looking at a screen can create health risks. Watching TV or a computer stops the process of enzymes. Also TV or computer screens are one of the reasons people get fat easier and faster.

Four facts I learned are enzymes break down fat. That cholesterol is fat. The production of enzymes is called lipoprotein lipase. That cardiology is the study of the heart.

I wonder why they have a comic on the back with no point. Also I think this information should have been told to people before. Also this is some information that could get people off their couches.

The title of this article is "Long Spells at Screen Create Health Risk" and is by www.socialstudiesforkids.com. This aarticle is about how ad sitting in front of a computer or T.V screen. And how sitting in front of screen doesnt let your body produce enzyme. And you should time how long you watch T.V. This is taking place nationwide.

Four facts I learned from this article are...
1. If you sit in front of the T.V for two hours or more you increase the chance of heart diease.
2. They tood a study of 4,500 people over the age of 35 and more then half of them spend more than 4 hours in front of the T.v
3. You should break up you T.V time int to smaller segments
4. Sitting on the couch doesn't all enzyme to be made.

My overall thought are people should be getting up and active. When you are sitting on the couch your putting your health at risk. I think people should get up and actuve and be healthy. I recommend thi sto people who watch alot of T.V.

The article was about how if you watch TV to long you con create heath risks. the Article also was about how the longer time you do none thing can higher the body ability. Also scientists have been working on it.

People who spent more than four hours in front of a computer or the TV screen where more than twice as likely to have heart problems. Scientists have long held that too much inactivity is harmful to the body. Exercise makes a difference in overall health. The study incorporated sitting only in a leisure context.

My overall thoughts on the article where that the article was very interesting. also gave good info. Now i no not to sit on my but to long and watch TV on sit on the computer to long. i would recommended this article to someone who watches TV a lot or goes on the computer to much.

was ok. It was ok because it wasnt something that interests me. I learned thatif you sit down for a while it can cause heart problems. I recommend this article to people who sit down for long periods of time and stare at screens.

I learned the following from this article: If yoou watch T.V.in different sections of the day it prevents heart problems. Don't sit in front of the T.V. for more then four hours. Exersize helps health. Enzymes are created by the body.

I learned that people who sit in front of the tv or computer for 4+ hours have a higher chance of heart problems. People who sir a lot have fewer enzymes to break down fat. Exercise once a day can keep you healthy. Break computer and tv time into smaller segments to reduce health risks.

I didn't like the article. It had useful information but it didn't apply to me. The article was boring to read exept for the comic. I would recommend this article to people who have jobs that use computers a lot.

This article really confused me. So if your just sitting in your car driving, for a long time does it still affect how your body breaks down fat? I don't think that this article is very realistic because I think most jobs consist of sitting down, unless your a yoga teacher or a physical trainer. I would recomend this article to people who are on the computer a lot or watch t.v. all day.

Another thing they talked about is that at work most likely you sit a lot throughout the day so try to decrease the amount of time you sit. One more thing they talked about is that people should watch how long they are stting down in one day.

Things I found interesting while reading this article include: Sitting for long periods of time can lead to a build up of fats. Sitting jobs in today's society trap people behing the computer screen and add to the health problems. The inability to break down fats is worse if the sitting person is eating foods high in cholesterol, such as potato chips. Even though sitting for long periods of time is bad for you, we a sitting for hours on end in school (not that I'm suggesting we run on treadmills or anything).

I liked this article a lot. I think it was among the first that was actually written in a way I really understood it. I also thought the author chose a very important subject to write about. I would recommend this article to the people who are sitting on the couch eating potato chips. They are the ones who need it most.

P.S. I find this ironic. We are talking about not spending as much time sitting in front of the computer while we a sitting in front of a computer. :)

The four facts that I learnd are.
1.That if you sit to long you can have heart desease.
2.What the word enzme is.
3.That it only takes two hours to be at risk.
4.What the word liperous means.

I liked this article because it warns you that even if you sit in front of the tv for two hours you would be at risk. I also like this article because it makes me aware what I do. I would recommend this article to people who spend to much time in front of the tv.

"Long Spells at Screen Create Health Risk" was mostly about scientists clearly stating sitting on the coach too long is very bad. In other words people who sit around a lot have higher risk of heart problems. Also it's a very good idea to work out daily.
Three facts that I learned from this AOW were............
#1 People who sit too long watching TV or who go on the computer can develop a higher risk of heart problems.
#2 People who sit around on tech for more than 4 hours tend to be lazy.
#3 The latest studies show that excising is something that helps lower the risk of heart problems.

Well I really liked the part of that this AOW was easy to read and understand. I especially liked the cartoon on the back page. The article is more enjoyable that way.

The article i read is called "Long Spells at Screen Creates Health Risk." It was about what happens when you sit infront of the tv/computer alot. The article told me that by sitting in front of the a screen for a long time can cause a higher risk of heart problems.

Four facts that i learned from the article are exercizing once a day can help offset the harms to your body. Sitting for long peroids of time at a strech can hinder the body's ability to break down fats, such as cholestorol. I also found out that a study showed that people who sit for even two hours at a time can increase the risk of heart problem's. Also people that spend more four hours infront of the tv/computer are more than twice as likely to have heart problem's than people who spend more time being active.

One thing that i don't get is if sitting for long peroids of time can increase the risk of heart problems then why sit so much at school. I liked this article because it gave alot of facts about long term affects from sitting for long peroids of time.
