1. Do you think that writing by hand is good exercise for your brain? Why? Why not?
I have noticed a lot of changes in students over the past five years in terms of their writing, and the use of the computer. Computers and video games are a big part of a students life, and I think in many ways this is having a negative impact on young people today. I have noticed that handwriting, and the legibility of many students to be a big issue. Many students cannot write so that other people can read it, and this is a problem! One of the big reasons handwriting is such an issue is because so many students spend so much time on the computer and playing video games.
2. Do you agree that writing by hand might create different thinking than those thoughts you generate when you type.
This question is interesting to me. I see many students today that all they want to do during independant writing is type on the computer. I have thought for a long time that if students were given laptops that this issue would be solved. However, if students can not write as well if they are on a computer, this will have a big impact on how writing is taught in schools.
1.Do you agree that writing by hand might create different thinking then those thoughts you generate when you type?
I don't see how writing by hand might create different thinking then those thoughts you generate when you type. I don't agree with it because I don't get how it would make a difference. Also if you write by hand then how will it affect your brain differently then when you type? And how would it affect your thoughts?
2.DO you think writing by hand is a good excercise for your brain?
I think writing by hand is a good excercise for my brain because I think it allows me to think more, about spelling and grammer. On a computer you have spell check, to make sure everything is right but when your writing longhand you have to pay attention to what your writing and figure it out yourself.
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for your brain?
I think it is because it wont make you forget how to write things or how to spell them like the kids in China and Japan. I think technology is not helping the solution because on computers you're not writing anything your typing. So that's not helping your brain get any smarter and with I-pod touches and I-pads you're typing on the screen too.
Reflect on whether you are writing enough in your writers notebook.
I think i am writing enough in my writers notebook because I try to write something in it everyday. I also bring my notebook home every night and every weekend. My goals are to write a story every week like an A-Z or a poem.
i never new that hand writing is good for your brain but now that somebody mentioned it, it makes sense.i am not sure what side to chose fo writing by hand you create different thinking than thoughts you generate when writing on the computer. i don't get why it matters how you write i would think that you would come up with the same ideas?
Do you think that writing by hand is good exercise for your brain?
I think that it is because it helps with spelling because if you type you have spellcheck to depend on.I also think kids do not really care if they spell it wrong because of spellcheck.
Do you agree that wrting by hand might create different thinking than those thoughts you generate when you type?
I do think that writing by hand helps make different thinking, because when you write by hand you think it through and it makes you look smarter. It makes you look smarter because you do not have as much mistakes also you think about spelling and grammar
Do you think that writing by hand is good exercise for your brain? Why? Why not?
I think writing by hand exercises your brain more then typing because when your typing your just pushing buttons, but when your writing by hand your actually writing each one.
Writing by hand I think helps generate more ideas because your paying more attention to writing so you don't mess up and have to erase but when your typing you just can push backspace.
I chose to write about do you think that writingfree handidly is better than computer typing and my answer was yes because it helps you figure out your words better because when when typing on a computer you do not get anything out of typing on a computer because if you spell a word wrong and you just have to hi spell check and it gives you the word in an instant unlike writing freehandidly you learn from your mistakes and it is better for learning your words and a computer is like cheating.
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for you brain?
I think it is because it makes sure you don't forget, how to spell common used words and rememeber how to form letters. You shouldn't have a computer do everything for you. You shouldn't breeze through life makeing a computer do everything for you.
Do you agree that writing by hand might create different thinking than thsoe thoughts generate when you type?
I do agree because when your writing as you writ eh word you may think of another idea just writing a word but when you typing your not acutally not writing the word your typing makeing a computer do it for you it may not send the same idea to your brain if your typing it.
How hand writing makes you smarter.
Q1; Do you think hand writing is a good exercise for your brain why or why not?
I think hand writing is a good exercise for your brain because, it gives your brain a chance to work really hard, and work creatively. Q2; Do you think you write in your writers notebook, reflect. I think I do write enough in my writers notebook. Whether it's storeies or just basic notes, my note book is defiently packed!
Do you think that writing by hand is good exercise for the brain? Why? Why not?
For me, I think writing is good exercise for your brain but so is typing so I wouldn't care which one I do. I think it's good exercise to do those because you get out ideas fast and can come up with new ones.
Do you agree that writing by hand might create different thinking than those thoughts you generate when you type?I think writing by hand doesn't create different thinking than typing because it's pretty much the same thing.
Am I writing enough in my journal?
I believe that I am writing enough in my journal, because I writhe my reflections in my journal before I type them, generating better ideas with my paper and my pencil.
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for your brain? Why? Why not?
I do think so, because when you are writing you are letting your creativity loose on paper and it is much more satisfactory than just punching a button and making words appear on a bright and headache-inducing screen. I think writing is better for your brain and your story because it is a LOT easier to find the right wording on paper, trust me.
~Em~
do you think that writing by hand is good for ur brain?
yes i do because if you don't no how to spell a word you can look it up and learn how to spell the word unlike on a computer if you don't no how to spell a word u just left click on it and u click on the right spelling so yes i do think that writing by hand is better for your brain.
reflect on weather you are writing enough in my writing notebook.
yes because we write every day and on average i write about 2 pages a day. well it also depends if im in to what im writing i can get about like 4 pages so yes i do think im writing enough in my writing notebook.
Do you think that writing by hand is good excercise for your brain? why? why not? I think it is because then your thinking about what your saying while you write where if your typing it your not really thinking about what your typing.
Do you agree that writing by handmight create different thinking than those thoughts you generate when you type? yes i do agree because when you write by hand it sticks in your head but iwhen your typing it really doesn't do anything
do you think that writing is a good exercise for your brain???
yes i do because if you are using letters you get so used to seeing them. then to learn how to say them and it teaches you how to read to because you know what the letters sound like and you can put a couple together and make up a word and that works really good for little kids to learn.
do you think you write enough in your writers notebook???
yes i do think i write enough in my writers notebook because i can usually write and/or publish a story in about a week or less. not just in my writers notebook but my readers notebook i write 1 whole page of reflection without skipping lines for my book club book!
I think that writing helps you brain/ because when you write it you start to learn more about what you are withing. so you learn more when you write.
I think it might create different thinking because 1. you might be learning new stuff and 2. you remember stuff when you write
i think that it is better that write than typing because when you write you are learning and when you type you are just pressing buttons.
How Writing by hand makes Kids Smarter
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for the brain? Why or why not?
Yes because writing makes the brain work by letting your mind run freely, think in ways you wouldn’t think, your imagination runs free and when you write you just think, think and think.
Do you agree that writing by hand might create different thinking than those thoughts you generate when you type?
Yes because when you type on a computer it seems harder for some people because you have to memorize all the keys and what they do and making mistakes. This makes you lose focus of your creative thoughts and you get more worried about pushing the right keys than giving a nice description.
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for your brain? Why? Why not?
I think writing by hand is better than typing because personally I think you have more of an open mind than typing. When you're typing, you're just staring at letters on a screen, verse writing on paper and actually writing the letters. Sometimes when I type more than write, I seem to forget how to write certain letters. When I type on a computer, I don't think as much as of when I'm writing. That's why I think iPod Touches, iPhones, and iPads are good because you're not just staring at a screen and letting the device do the work, you're interacting with it too.
Do you agree that writing by hand might create different think than those thoughts when you type?
Personally, I think you do because when you write you are using your brain on thinking what to write next. When I type, I worry about what sentence I have to type next. I'm not saying that we should ban typing forever, I'm saying that we should cut down a little bit on typing. Sometimes I believe that writing by hand helps your penmanship. To me, I think typing makes your mind go blank and focus on one thing. Like sometimes I forget what I'm going to do on the computer.
Do you think that writing by hand is a good exercise for your brain?
I would have to say yes because when you write by hand not only are you practicing use of your letters you are also practicing your spelling. On a computer you just skip over words that you misspell because you can just use spell check. Writing by hand makes you look up the word and correct yourself without spell check.
Reflect on weather you are writing enough in your writers note book
I think that I am writing enough in my writers notebook. There has only been part of the year and I have a lot of it filled out. Last year I didn't have enough in it. Most likely because I would start something then I would get board and start a new thing. Now i try to finish things till the end.
Yes I think writing is a good exercise for the brain. It is a way of refreshing your English or any language for that matter. Writing is something people do all their lives so it's a way to remember and study.
Personally I don't see the difference between typing and writing because generally when typing and printing like a paper if the paper has mistakes you have to go back and print it again. So I think writing is easier.
Do you think that writing by hand is good exercise for the brain?Yes because it helps brain development and cognition. You also can write faster than type and it generates more ideas.Reflect on wether you are writing enough in your writers notebook.I honestly think I am because I have written a lot in that notebook.
do i agree that writting by hand might create different thinking than those thoughts you generate while typing?yes i do think that writting by hand creates differnet thinking because when you are typing you don't have that time to brainstorm ideas and when your at your desk you have all those ideas flying around in the air waiting to be written about.do i think writting by hand is a good exersise for your brain? yes i do think that it is a good exersise for your brain because you might be writting about your history and you learn more and more as you write.
I think that I write enough in my writers notebook. I usally have 5 sentences as a minimum for the blog and 4 sentences mimimum for my book club reflection.
I think writing is good exersice for my brain. To keep your brain happy and healthy, you need to think. On a keypad it's just about memorizing buttons. When you're writing, it's making the actual letter. I think if your are in third grade or lower, you should hand write all the time.
Do you agree that written by hand might create different thinking then those thoughts generated when you type? No I do not because I do not think it makes a difference when your typing your train of thought from when your handwriting it. The reason for this is that I just don't see the difference between the two besides when you handwrite your thoughts you use a pen or a pencil.
Reflect on whether you are writing enough in your writer's notebook. Yes I do think I am because everytime I am either in the middle of a story or finished with one I always think of a new Idea to write about. But if i think of a new story to write about in the middle of a different piece then I will write it down and when i'm finished with the other story then I will write about the new idea.
no i dont think their is a diffrence between typeing and writing the only diffrence is you use a pencile when you write instead of typeing but you may have a thought and by the time you get to te seconed letter you might have forgotten it but other than that you still have it spell the word right. i also dont think writing can make you smarter than typeing because you stll have to spell and do puncuation so no i dont think there is a diffrence in any of the to i typed.
